The courses offered lead to either the Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) or the City and Guild, TVET, .IFLL.
Grades 7 – 9: Subjects offered are English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, Integrated Science, Physics, Chemistry, Social Studies, Geography, Product Design, Home & Family, Business Basics, Agricultural Science, Visual Arts, Religious Education, Spanish, Physical Education, Information Technology, History, Reading, Theatre Arts.
Grades 10 – 11: Students are required to do only the option chosen at the end of grade 9, along with the compulsory offerings of English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science and Social Studies. The options are Agricultural Science, Art & Craft, Business Education, Clothing & Textile, Early Childhood Education, Auto Mechanics, Food & Nutrition, Home Management, Machine Shop & Welding, Woodwork, Physical Education, Theatre Arts. Students are also allowed to choose between Religious Education and English Literature, Spanish and History and Geography. Information Technology, Chemistry, Biology and Physics have also been added to the curriculum at this level.
All students are required to do a certain amount of individual studies out of school hours. Teachers give homework, which includes written work, research, reading topics for discussion, collecting materials for experiments and for your practical work. It is expected that parents will cooperate by monitoring students to see that assignments are done. Students are expected to hand in ALL assignments on time.
